I can’t stand to see greasy fingerprints and smudges on my iPhone display. It looks terrible, is unhygienic and actually affects the visibility of the display, so I always try to carry a small cloth to give it the occasional wipe down throughout the day.

Design
Covered in genuine Napa leather on the outside, the NueVue case feels so soft and luxurious to hold that I’ve struggled to put it down at times — it feels that nice! NueVue have kept the design around the case relatively simple too, with some red stitching down the middle & around the rim of the case, along with NueVue’s branding on the front and back.
If that colour combo doesn’t work for you, don’t worry, NueVue iPhone cases come in other colours like tan & orange, black, pink and a plain tan which happened to be my personal favourite of the lot. You even have the choice of cotton or canvas materials (with more colour variations) if you’re not a fan of the leather finish.
In terms of access to the iPhone’s ports, you’ll still be able to access the Lightning port for charging, and I had no issues plugging in my standard Apple earphones either.
Protection
As with most cases of this style, the bottom and top parts of the iPhone are vulnerable to impact damage since they’re not completely covered. While the iPhone’s display & main body are protected when kept in the NueVue case, you will need to consider that the iPhone won’t be protected when it’s outside of the case.
Keeping Your Phone Clean
Leaving aside the looks, the most interesting part of the NueVue case is the germ-killing technology on the inside.
Lined entirely in a microfibre material, these cases feature BioCote antimicrobial technology which essentially cleans your phone every time you insert and remove your iPhone. You just need to apply gentle pressure to the case while you push your iPhone in or out of it, which in turn allows the microfibre to wipe down your phone.
According to NueVue, the case kills 80% of germs within an impressive fifteen minutes of being in the case, and 99.9% within two hours.
I don’t have the scientific equipment to test the germ-killing technology, but I can say that it does a great job of getting rid of fingerprints and smudges on the screen. There have been times when there’s still some smudging around the edges of my iPhone if I don’t grip the case well enough, but for the majority of times the case has been great.
Verdict
The NueVue iPhone case may not be the cheapest case you’ve bought at £45 (or $57), but taking in to account the luxurious leather, fantastic construction and the BioCote technology that keeps your iPhone looking fresh & clean, it’s worth every penny.
