Getting media from your tablet on to a bigger screen hasn’t always been the easiest of tasks. Even if you resort to using a media streamer like Apple TV or a Roku for example, you’re still reliant on a TV and power source to get that done.
Intent on solving that problem and making it easier to share content, a startup based in Washington, USA has come up with Project Wedge; a plug-in-and-play battery operated projector for your tablet.
At a starting price of $157 (including shipping with your pre-order), Project Wedge features four hours of battery life off a single charge, an 800 x 600 resolution and projects around 80-100 lumens.
Perhaps the most impressive of its features is its portability, making it appealing for a number of scenarios like business meetings, classrooms and possibly the most appealing to me, home entertainment. Having the ability to effortlessly project content without the need for power and connector cables is something I can see being truly valuable, especially in a home environment.
Project Wedge is compatible with many of the mainstream tablets like iPads (& iPhone), Google’s Nexus line, Samsung Galaxy series and Amazon’s Kindle Fire (Not HDX Models). It also works with any product with HDMI out capabilities too.
